I live in Central Jersey... but I work with our client in Valley Forge, PA area... I moved somewhere close to Valley Forge, PA so that I don't have to deal with the commute... although I rent a place in Valley Forge,PA I am legally and technically a residence of Central Jersey. I work for a consulting firm based in Philadelphia, so that means I get mileage reimbursement with what exceeds my regular commute from our office in Philadelphia since the client I go to is in Valley Forge, PA.

Basically, what my situation right now is that I get reimbursed for a commute that I never do, but I'm legally and technically entitled to... Also, the company pays us cheap dirt that is why the mileage reimbursement that I get adds to what they pay us.

What do you guys think? A lot of people does this right? How do I explain this to my boss? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Why do you need to explain it to your boss? Just keep it on the d/l. No need to open a can of worms if, like you said, you are entitled to mileage reimbursement either way, right?
