Most conditioner bottles say to leave the conditioner in for 1 or 2 minutes and then rinse it out, whereas some say to rinse immediately.

What would happen if someone left conditioner in for longer than that time...say 10 minutes? What would happen? If it is a bad thing to do, what would happen?

I really don't think it would do much... because I leave it in longer than it says, and my hair is just soft. Just don't put the conditioner on your roots, bc they'll look oily. I put the conditioner on starting at the very ends and work it up about halfway. I wouldn't leave it in longer all the time though, bc the build-up will make your hair look dirty faster.
