Ideally when you are importing goods, you should ask the shipper when will the material be loaded for shipment. First the goods are cleared by agent and then loaded when vessel is available. You should ask ETA Mumbai(Expected time of arrival to Mumbai )to shipper.

You can do it now too.

After the goods are loaded, the agent provides copies of Bill of Lading(B/L) to shipper. Ideally he should courier you the B/L. Tell him to Courier Commercial Invoice and Packing list too. You can take this documents to your agent in Mumbai. The B/L will have address and contact info of shipping line for correspondence in Mumbai. Contact them for more details.

Best of Luck.
