I recently purchased a 60m static rope but have yet to invest in a rope bag for it. It is presently flaked into an old (but clean) gym bag. Would it be better if i coiled it? How should a rope be stored if there is no rope bag available? Also, do you wash your rope after every use? what kind of soap do I use? what water setting?

I coil it just so it is neatly packed. No need to use a rope bag, which is really just for convenience. Of course don't store it in sunlight or where it could be exposed to extreme temps (like by a heater) or chemicals (like on the floor of your garage). No you don't need to wash it every time, but you should try to keep it clean and off the ground as much as possible. When you do wash it, use rope wash (Nikwax makes some).
