I'm applying for an Indian tourist visa through VFS Global, and one of the categories on the form that I have to fill in online is 'spouse's details'. I'm single, unmarried and never have been married, but it's a compulsory field. Anyone know a way around this short of making up a wife for myself?

Hi Alex,

your question was originally asked on Y!A United States. In the U.S. however there is no VFS Global application center for India. India has outsourced the application process to a company named Travisa Outsourcing.

So please be so kind and tell us from which country you plan to apply for the Indian visa.

Those are really stupid Indian programmers who provide such type of application form.
I have just tried it with
name: NOT APPLICABLE
country: United Kingdom
place: NOT APPLICABLE
and it was accepted.
