I have had pools all my life and was wondering if there is anything wrong with opening your eyes underwater. It is a chlorine pool. Thankyou!

No. However, your vision is about 20/200 in a pool when not using goggles.

If the pH of the pool is correct, your eyes will take a long time to start to sting, but sooner or later, they will start to hurt. It is not the chlorine (or other sanitizer) that causes your eyes to hurt, it is the pH. Your eyes have a pH of about 6.8 (slightly acidic) and pools should have a slightly basic pH of 7.2 - 7.4 and that is what causes your eyes to burn.
