Stay at home moms have you...?

Now that you are home more have you noticed some funny or odd things about your neighbors or just your surroundings?
I really think my one neighbour might be a vampire because he only comes out at night. And maybe it happens all the time and I was just to unaware to notice. But I've seen it raining in my front yard but not in my back yard or vise versa on more then one occasion. Just thought it'd be fun to hear some weird story's... care to share?

I feel bad for stay at home moms...?
Asked By Brendan,Last Answer By ChibiKris At 2010.08,1 Answers

My mom is a average stay at home mom and i feel sorry for her and others like her. Im about to turn 16 so im old enough to do my own laundry and clean up my own room but my dad always makes a big deal out of it bc shes suppose to clean 'everything'. But i think stay at home moms need help cleaning stuff and a break every now in then without being looked at as lazy or wht ever.My mom stays at home with my 1yo little bro and my 3yo lil sis and she takes care of them, cooks and cleans and my dad goes to work and then comes home and eats, sleeps and complain. Howcome stay at home moms are so under appreciated? I think my dad is way lazier than my mom

Question for people who believe moms should stay home?
Asked By luvmy4boyz,Last Answer By Mom to a Boy & boy came 3-10- At 2010.08,1 Answers

If you are someone who believes mothers should be home and should not work outside the home, do you also believe all children should be home schooled?

If not then can you explain what the difference is between being away from your child while you work, and being away from your child while they attend school?

I ask because the main argument of people who are against working moms seems to be that they are allowing someone else to care for/teach their child while they work rather than being there for their child. So wouldn't those same people be against children going to school as well?

For the record, I was a stay home mom before my children went to school. I've never had an issue though with moms who work and so I wonder why others do.

Actually what made me think of this question is when someone here asked who spends more time with your child, you, your husband, daycare etc..?

It just got me thinking how it seems more acceptable for your child to be away from you if they go to school all day but not acceptable if it's because you work. Both are choices, school is not mandatory, people could home school. So why is one acceptable and not the other to some people? If you say "I work 8 hours a day so I don't get to see my child during that time" = bad, but "My child goes to school 8 hours a day so I don't get to see them during that time" = perfectly fine

Are there any grants available for stay-at-home moms who want to go back to school?
Asked By Trinity777,Last Answer By Suba At 2009.12,1 Answers

I am talking specifically about any grants/scholarships that are not dependent on your net family income. My husband makes enough money, but we don't have any extra for me to go back to school because most of it goes to some properties that we invested in a few years ago (and we all know how the real estate market is doing now). I was just wondering if there are any scholarships or grants available specifically for stay-at-home moms who want to get a degree. Thanks!

Does anybody else get aggravated when they say stay at home moms have the hardest jobs?
Asked By ♥,Last Answer By PeachPie At 2010.08,1 Answers

I am not dissing stay at home moms but I just get really upset when people feel they have the hardest jobs. What about the moms who go to work and then come home and raise their kids. I never understood the logic in stay at home moms having harder jobs. I think the single moms have the hardest jobs. They have no choice but to work and then have to come home and deal with every issue on there own. I guess I am just upset b/c my mom was a single mom while my dad blew all his money. And his wife did not work but though housework was so hard.

Using the system and stay-at-home-moms: Why shouldn't we use the system?
Asked By FitGuru,Last Answer By Mrs. Z plus 3 At 2010.08,1 Answers

back in the olden days there weren't all of these ridiculous taxes.

someone emailed me a list of everything that our government taxes us for, and the list is quite long - 2 pages full of things that we as americans are taxed for.

at the end of the list, there was a statement that made a lot of sense; it read, "once upon a time, women could comfortably stay at home with their children. today, prices are sky high, and in addition to unreasonable prices, there are taxes on everything imaginable, forcing both of the parents to have to work to provide for their families, while other people raise their children. the people who demand these taxes get rich while their wives are able stay at home and raise their children, but the average american must hand their children over to strangers while they both work. can you say, 'greedy politicians?'

so, with this point made, i am thinking of using the system for food stamps, medicaid and electric assistance once my child is born in october so that i can stay at home with him.

the way i see it, if the government is going to pin all of these silly and unnecessary taxes on the average american while we struggle while their pockets get fatter, why shouldn't i use the government to help me raise my child until he starts school?

i have worked for 15 years straight, and most of these 15 years i have worked 2 and sometimes 3 jobs, so i have payed a lot of taxes over the years.

would i be terrible to take advantage of government assistance until my son starts school?
