Hi there guys. I'm going to deviate from my normal means of communication and be a bit informal here.
First off, let me introduce myself. My name Is Gregory Flores, and I'm a Sales Manager for GCE (Global Commodities Exchange).
Now, I normally don't ask too many questions, seeing as how information is always so close at hand now a days, but I'm having an issue with Copper Scrap. Mill Berry, Berry, and Barley Mixed specifically.
What price am I supposed to be looking for here. Looking around I see prices, both CIF and FOB, in the thousands, and some in the hundred USD.
Now looking at the global market for Copper (HG) I can see that Copper , today at least, closed at $3.83.
That being said, doing the math, I'd roughly get a price of $8000 per metric tons for copper.
Yet there are some sellers going for $400-$600 USD per Mt.
So what gives? What am I looking for in this commodity?
Anyone out there dealt with Copper Scrap before? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Why is it, that in the United States, they complain about a trade defecit with all of the other countries in the world, when the manufacturers themselves don't want to work with either brokers or traders.
