Is this religious discrimination?
Asked By Deino,Last Answer By Julia S At 2011.05,1 Answers

If I open a Christian store, a store that caters specifically to people who are seeking Christian goods like Bibles and gifts, then I would prefer to have Christian employees.
A young librarian told me that only hiring Christians for this job is religious discrimination, something I could be sued for.

Although the basic labor of stocking bookshelves and handling a cash register can be done by people of all and any religious mindset, the fact remains that not all of the people who enter my store will be looking for product. Many will be looking for information regarding Christianity. They will want somebody to pray with. They will be churches and religious organizations looking for like-minded individuals to discuss and plan events etc. A tremendous amount of the "customer service," for lack of a better term, will require a both knowledgeable and faithful person.
Somebody who is not a faithful Christian cannot pray with people or minister to people or, among other things, be a faithful Christian; however, these are things that people who enter a Christian store are looking for.
Accordingly, somebody who cannot satisfy that basic requirement that separates a Christian store from any other store, be it secular or otherwise, will not be qualified for a position.

That's fact, but I don't know what a lawyer will say about it...

Is there protection for religious retail organizations from religious discrimination charges because of the facts stated above? Or is there not?

Religious and Non-Religious Friends, how do you feel about one another?
Asked By Eds,Last Answer By nosnodâ„¢ At 2011.02,1 Answers

I have seen many Non-Abrahamics attack people like Primo and Fireball who are die-hards in their personal convictions. I have seen theists who attack the likes of Liz and Slave of 12 gods who are also die-hards in their personal convictions. I feel that being attacked by others does not cause another to change his/her beliefs nor is it good for anyone. I believe that I am supposed to love everyone and teach whenever possible what my beliefs are to others. I share and always try to treat others as if we were raised in the same family. That does not mean that we have to agree but that we should all try to teach one another and answer respectfully whenever possible. Please share your feelings on this TRUTHFULLY if you will...
Thank You,
Eds

Snowboarder discrimination...?
Asked By lanatista,Last Answer By ♫♫♫♫♫♫ At 2011.03,1 Answers

i'm a 13 year old girl and can snowboard better than anyone I know. i'm really fast, and always in control. i'm good on moguls, and can turn like nobody's business! i can keep up with anyone, can go on any ski run, and have been doing it for almost 7 years. but for some reason people always just assume that i'm not very good or something. i bought a skateboard a few months ago, and i told the guy that i was pretty good at skateboarding because i snowboard and it was true. he didn't believe me that i snowboard! that's not the only time that this has happened. i always surprise people when they ski/snowboard with me because they assume that i'm not very good! do people just assume that i'm not good at my sport because i'm a girl and 13 years old? don't you think that's stupid?

Does the British Government Know what Discrimination Is ?
Asked By Billy,Last Answer By Flash1977 At 2011.04,1 Answers

Why should real Incapacity Benefit disabled people be subject to discrimination by a Government that don't understand how disability effects the way that people suffer because they can't all work , some disabled people can work but not as good as able-bodied people can AND why should none-disabled people have the power to decide which disabled people can or can't or have the ability to work . When you are , as I am , disabled and have been so all my life , and have worked but for whatever reason , just can't anymore because of condition or age , I am 60 , I have worked from 1967 to 2000 full-time and from 2006 to 2010 part-time but now I just have no energy left to do any more without having long breaks between doing even little jobs like washing the dishes or setting the fire and then some bureaucrat tells you that you are fit to work , he being 30 years your younger and physically fit , it's blatant Discrimination and must be Stopped !

Overweight employee discrimination?
Asked By Daniel B,Last Answer By jeff m At 2010.10,1 Answers

Are young employees (<30) more likely to not get hired than someone over 30 that is overweight. I have a friend who is an HR worker saying that employees that are overweight and young, under 30, are more likely to get discriminated against do to the fact that young people are supposed to energetic, acitve and go-getters hence they shouldn't be overwieght. That could point to them being lazy and not ambitious. What do you think on this?

Death Penalty discrimination?
Asked By Bryan F,Last Answer By mutterhals At 2010.10,1 Answers

I put that title there so people will actually read the finer details. Do you think women are excluded from being sentenced to death? Please note that this is not a question about if you support it or not. There are so many men, especially of color, being sentenced with the death penalty. You don't hear about too many women getting the death penalty. Are we, as an American society or even other societies around the world, treating women equally in this case? Are women put on a pedestal because of their gender? What are your thoughts on this?

ok...me and a couple of my BFF's (women) went to a country bar. not my style, but i wanted to check out some hot cowboys. any hoo, all the silly women were riding the mechanical bull. they were doing it real slow, grinding, and all the other sick stuff. the operator kept the bull slow. i can out-ride any of these girls any day. i had a few drinks and thought i'd show them how to really ride the bull.
so i hopped up there and was grinding and going up and down when all of a sudden...the jerk operating the bull TURNED THE SPEED UP FULL THROTTLE AND I FLEW OFF!!! my BFF's came and picked me up. all the redneck cowboys were yee hawing and laughing at me. when i walked out, one of them hissed at me..."we only want to see women up there...not your kind!" i was so scared i ran out!

Will I face discrimination in Buenos Aires?
Asked By mia,Last Answer By ZZZMan At 2011.03,1 Answers

I am thinking about going to BA, Argentina on an internship for 3 months. I am a Canadian female, but my ethnic background is Trinidadian and Venezuelan. Most people think I look East Indian however. I know that sometimes social class is connected to how one will be treated, but I am from an upper-middle class. How will I will be treated there? Will people say rude comments to me? Will I be stared at? How do Argentine men respond to foreign women?
Thanks for your help in advance!
